This would be my first Hotas. Please note that I am on PC. Logitech Extreme 3D for a classic budget joystick that honestly isn't bad for the price. TM T.16000M for a cheap, but decent joystick. TM TWCS for a good budget throttle. VKB T-Rudders for the really good pedals at a great price (cheaper pedals are pretty bad).

With a HOTAS, your left hand rests on the throttle, with some controls conveniently under your finger tips. When you want to go faster, you push your arm forward etc.. The throttle keeps its position, so if you want to keep going, you can let go of it. It is very convenient, like an armrest.

Concur. The absolute best setup you can get for space flight is dual Virpil Constellation Alphas with foot pedals. This is very pricey, so try and get as close as possible to it. Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X (70Bucks) is a good starter Hotas, I still use it over 2 years now.
i have a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X, and when im in the controls its not showing my flight stick. you cant really google for answers yet (ive already tried). this flight stick is very common. im not sure what im missing. there is no detect button, no way to find the flight stick. any one else having this problem, or am i just over looking something.
I used two table clamps that are meant for mic stands that I got from Amazon. (WALI C-Clamp Base Stand Mounting Accessory for WALI Monitor Mount Workstation System (C-CLAMP), Black). However, there are only 10 switches (including the hat), which makes it very limited, even for simpler flight sims like Descent and Overload, and God help you if you're playing something more advanced. The TWCS (throttle) reviews favorably compared to the X52 throttle. It's also got a rocker that will duplicate rudder when (not if) the twist axis on the T.16000 (stick) fails. The throttle is also substantially better than the X52 with the mini joystick (instead of a mouse nub) and more buttons and hats overall.Interestingly, there are some changes with the Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition I own. If you're looking for your first HOTAS just to dip your toes in, then I recommend the x52 pro. I paid $200 for mine and its been an absolute trooper. This would be my first Hotas.
