Today, I used the XIVLauncher repair tool (right click on the Login button on XIVLauncher and select Repair) which took ~1 minute and it seems to have fixed it. Been playing 2-3 hours without a crash. My guess is it is related to the DX9/DX11 files that are often modified by XIVAlexander and other addons.

The one's I use most are reloading all textures (like what you're wanting), and "rectify" which will try it's best to layout a wonky looking UV map into a square. Perfect for pipes/cushions/etc..
