I have enough space around it to do a change out easily enough on site. Just watch the positive wire. you will end up welding on site if you change out the selenoid w/o disconnecting the battery. If you put a 3.3 ohm (a standard value) resistor in series with it the current would be reduced to. 12 V/ (12 + 3.3) ohms = 0.784 A, so you would get about 78% of the force. A regular automotive one would get you out of a sticky situation but thats about it. You have to know how it works, to figure out why it doesn't.You need a Western solenoid, wire that in, then that wire goes to one of the small terminals one the solenoid. When you are working the controller, it makes contact inside, then it grounds out the solenoid thru the cables to the HYd unit. And I have a new controller with cables on the shelf if needed. Reply.
