Art classes and live demonstrations make for a fun and informative destination. Arrive at the colonial-style structure and notice the colorful tiles spelling out the complex’s name.The Spanish Village Art Center is worth a visit while in Balboa Park. We were here a bit early before 11am, so some of the shops were not open yet, but we were still able to peruse a few of the galleries. The true history of the Spanish Village the art center located within the buildings was designed for the California Pacific International Exposition. Constructed in 1935 to resemble a village in Spain, these building were latter used by artists during the great depression and were used to house soldiers during World War 2. We currently offer classes in Glass blowing, Fusing, Stained glass, Lampwork, and Torch Sculpting. * Contact the guild for more information.
