German luger markings
Jan 13, 2015 · I have a 9mm 1917/1920 DWM and have been photographically recording markings and looking them up. All numbers match, including internal small parts, except for a WWII magazine, and grips. The four-digit serial number is 10XX with no suffix letter. The right receiver has the normal German military receiver proofs of 1914-1918.One of the scarce, small-production manufacturers of the Luger is Krieghoff – Heinrich Krieghoff to be exact. Kreighoff Waffenfabrik was a smallish arms company that wanted to get into major contracts with the rearming German military in the 1930s. They began by bidding on a contract for 10,000 Luger pistols for the Luftwaffe, and won.Dec 30, 2021 · It appears that an East German post war bottom has been installed on a 1941-42 fxo body. The bottom of this mag looks more like Zamak, the zinc alloy commonly used in the post-WWII firearms industry. There were umpteen guns made of the material beginning roughly in the late 50s/early 60s, and it's still in use today.
