When a red dot shows on the Slack icon, it's sometimes hard to figure out which channel the dot corresponds to. For a lot of my channels, I have notifications muted. So a white dot will still appear in Slack for that workspace, but it won't be for the kind of notification that creates a red dot on the Slack icon.
